Compost Red Wriggler Worms, One pound
The red worm is the ideal composting worm as they are capable of eating half of their weight a day. They will eat anything that is carbon-based, although meat and dairy are not recommended.
Some foods they eat include:
1. vegetables (no onions)
2. shredded paper and cardboard
3. coffee grounds, filters, and tea bags
4. fruit (avoid citrus)
5. coir
We sell the weight of worms, not including the filler. The worms that are harvested are bed-run, which means that there may be adults, juveniles, and babies. The worms will shrink in weight during shipping. Because they are a wet animal, they dry out a little during shipping and they do not eat in transit. This is normal.
